Carmolis is a traditional and highly valued herbal preparation. Carmolis Herbal Drops are made from essential oils of traditional herbs according to an old monastic recipe. The recipe for Carmolis dates back to the 17th century, when the monks of the Carmelite order developed and prepared herbal drops in a monastic pharmacy in Paris. The monks drew on Far Eastern knowledge of herbs to blend essential oils.
The ingredients used by the monks of the Carmelite Brotherhood were also used to create the recipe for Carmolis Herbal Drops. In 1953, Dr. Adolf Schmidgall of Iromedia AG founded the first Carmolis production plant. Today, the Swiss family business, Dr. A. & L. Schmidgall GmbH & Co KG, is responsible for maintaining the Carmolis tradition and developing new product applications.
